Everton CEO resigns

  • Everton chief executive Trevor Birch has resigned after only 6 weeks on the job. Apparently he and Moyes have been at odds over how much the club should spend on new players.

  • Doesn't look good. In fact there's got to be something fundamentally wrong with the finances. Can everton really afford to keep rooney? No wonder he asked to see the accounts!

No, this doesn't look good for Everton. Moyes is a good manager and I figured last year would be a blip. But no one's come in this summer and Rooney's future is uncertain. The market is flooded with players; surely there are some talented ones out there to be had on the cheap.

Ya have to wonder why Birch resigned after 6 weeks. Maybe some things weren't in order. Or maybe he realized that he wasn't getting along with key people. Who knows.

  • Unbe-freaking-lievable.

On second thought, though, maybe it's all too believable considering everything that's gone on recently.

Birch had brought Abramovic to Chelsea and - at least to some degree - helped Leeds through their crisis, so I have to wonder exactly what it was that led him to jump ship.

  • This is very depressing

  • It's starting to get very worrying the club must be in serious dire straits for the new Ceo to leave this quick!
