1st Page Won't Show Image sizes..HELP
The problem I'm having is that 1st Page won't fill in the proper image dimensions for graphics designed in Live Motion. It brings the graphics into the edit area with "height="0" width="0". If I design something or use photographs which I've saved in Photoshop in the "Save for Web" area, 1st Page will show the dimensions of the graphic properly, but in order to make first page put in the dimensions of graphics designed in Live Motion, I have to open Photoshop and save them again in "Save for Web" to make the dimensions appear.
Is this a major bug in 1st Page or what? I've discovered it also has a problem with graphics saved in Photoshop in anything but "Save for web". If I just use "Save As" or resave a graphic, it won't show the dimensions either.
Has anyone else has this problem with graphics in 1st Page? If so, what did you do about it? I either have to save the graphics twice or choose to use another HTML editor.
Hey! You use the same main 2 programs I use! Cool Beans!
It really sucks that you'd have to save your graphics twice, twice the compression...
I quickly tried to insert something made in liv, a .swf and it won't even bring in the height or width dimensions.
It's trying to link to the file, like it would another web page, it acts like it's not truly inserting an object...
But that's with flash and I just realized I don't think you're talking about that LOL
Just experimented... made an object {gif} in Live, inserted it and the w & h are there, correctly.. so I don't know what the deal is. Why can't you just manually put in the dimensions? (I dunno sometimes I ask crazy things...)
I hope that babble helped a bit.

You might want to try :
right-click the file, select properties, use the second tab (or third if present, not quite sure), press advanced if not already set, and simply read the height and width there... Other cool stuff such as resolution, color depth should be available. (feature present on windows 2000 or higher, maybe win Me -- but i`m not sure, never tried)
But... As someone well informed posted before me, different software creates different files- I know it`s not normal but we have to live with it... :)
Also may I ask : If you designed the file, how can you not know the W&H???? after, all you made it?!? - I work Photoshop every day & trust Adobe totally; I don`t use the other, but i`m sure it asks for the file parameters before creating it when you hit "new".
Where can I get this thumbnail viewer, Irfanview?
Thank you!

To save the graphic as a jpg or gif you "export". If you use save or save as the graphic is saved as a Live Motion file, a .liv. I always save it first as a .liv because all the different steps are in the graphic before exporting.
If there is someone who can tell me how to save or export my graphic with the dimensions so that 1st Page will pick them up automatically, then I'd be very happy.
You see, I started to use 1st Page after using Arachnapholia, which is a free program that automatically picks up all graphics dimensions, including the ones created in Live Motion. Since I've been used to having the dimensions inserted automatically when I create a web page, I guess I'm spoiled, so can't find any reason to keep using 1st Page when it won't do the same thing Arachnapholia does so easily. See my point?
I like the ability 1st Page gives to simply drag the image from the left menu and onto the page, but if it won't pick up the dimensions from Live Motion files, then it doesn't do what I need it to do.
I'm still hoping someone who uses Live Motion and 1st Page will be able to help me figure out a way to fix things so I can use 1st Page efficiently.
Thanks....

And secondly, I also use PaintShopPro7, and have no trouble with images moved to FirstPage either.....hmmmmm

I could enter the height and width by hand, yes, but then I'd still have to put them into Photoshop in order to see the sizes. If I have to do that I might as well save them again.... you see what I mean.
All these are unnecessary steps in a process that should be easy. It forces me to go back to my other HTML editor, Arachanapholia. It easily puts all graphics in and adds their sizes automatically no matter which graphics program I'm using.
Thanks for trying.....
